Privacy policy

This policy covers the CALE Android app (package com.cale) and this website. Contact: muneebj71@gmail.com.

What CALE stores on your phone

CALE is local-first. Meal logs, custom foods, your calorie target, weight entries, and reminder preferences are saved on the device so you can track without an account.

Optional account and cloud sync

If you sign in with Google or email, we create an authentication record and sync your profile, meals, custom foods, and weight history so you can restore them on another device. Guest data on the phone can be kept and claimed when you sign in, instead of being wiped.

You can delete your account in the app. That removes the cloud account and associated synced data.

Notifications

Meal reminders are scheduled on the device. We do not use reminders to collect extra personal information.

Food search and estimates

Searching foods may query USDA FoodData Central when a network connection is available. Optional AI meal calorie estimates send the description you type to that estimation service so it can return a calorie number. Do not include information you do not want processed for that purpose.

This website

The marketing site and calorie calculators run in your browser. The calculators do not send your height, weight, or age to our servers. Standard web logs on whatever host you use for this site may include IP address and browser type.

Children

CALE is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under 13.

Your choices

• Use the app without an account.
• Sign out or delete your account from Profile.
• Turn meal reminders off in Notifications.
• Email us to ask about access or deletion of account data.
